How London lessons work
In your homeOn set days each week, so places are limited.More
Lessons happen in your home, or at a studio you book nearby if that suits you better. I’ve taught in London for years, first from my own studio in Paddington, and some of my longest-standing students are London families.
From £130 an hourTravel time and costs included.More
The exact figure depends on where you are, and I’ll confirm it before we start. My Maidenhead studio is a short train ride from Paddington at £80 an hour, and lessons over video are £80 too.
Central and west LondonPaddington to Fulham, and nearby.More
Mostly Paddington, Bayswater, Notting Hill, Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham. Other areas by arrangement.
The same approachSongs you love, and how music works.More
The same as my studio lessons: the music you love, a real understanding of how it is built, and a proper recording when you’re ready. I also teach piano, bass, ukulele, music production and composition.

Our teacher, Daniel, is very diligent and patient with our rambunctious young sons (4 & 6). Daniel is creative and willing to teach at their pace and keep things fun and friendly.

Excellent guitar and piano teacher with a great attention to detail. Great combination of teaching the necessary music theory alongside the practical aspects including technique and rhythm and timing.

Daniel is an excellent teacher. My daughter has rediscovered her love of guitar through Daniel’s teaching approach. He is both professional and friendly and highly skilled in his tutoring.

Daniel is a great teacher! Engaging, professional, efficient, punctual and excellent with children. He has been teaching my 12 year son for over two years with great results.
Renata Parent, Google review
As a lady in my 60’s starting to learn the guitar from the beginning, I chose Daniel to be my tutor. He is an excellent teacher with a lot of patience!
Heather Adult beginner, Google review
Daniel has a great way of teaching guitar that allows you to flow quickly even as a beginner … guiding you in fundamental principles whilst working on music you like, to bring out your own unique voice whilst playing.

He does not offer a standard, schematic service. Instead he provides a tailored learning approach that suits you best and keeps you motivated. You can tell he wants you to get better.
Lucio Google review
Fun teacher who’s extremely talented and explains technique and theory in an easy to understand way!
Eva Google review
What I really appreciated was going back to basics to understand scale modes and how they are all connected. He is also patient and explains things in such a way that this ageing wannabe rock star understands.

How it works
From a message to a weekly hour
Send a message
Tell me who the lessons are for, where you are and what you’d love to play. I reply within 24 hours, usually quicker.
The first lesson
I come to you with what we need. We start on a song you choose, arranged for your level, in the first hour.
A regular hour
Most students keep a weekly slot. You pay per lesson: no packs, no discounts, no tie-in.
Which parts of London do you cover?
Mostly central and west London: Paddington, Bayswater, Notting Hill, Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham. Other areas by arrangement.
What does a home lesson cost?
From £130 an hour, travel included, for addresses close to Paddington. Further out, the price follows my travel time by public transport; the page works it out for your postcode.
How frequently should we have lessons?
Students have lessons from biweekly, to once a week anywhere to 5 days a week and even daily. Entirely your choice.
What do we need at home?
An instrument and a quiet room. I bring everything else.
Do you teach grades?
I teach how music is built through understanding harmony, intervals, modes, rhythm and the fretboard, in relationship to music the student loves, as I can learn and adapt songs on the spot through years of training this way daily. While I can teach grades, I would rather not, as they are limitative and mostly a waste of time in comparison.
Who are the lessons for?
My students include complete beginners, professional musicians and well-known names who want to improve their craft. Every lesson is 1-to-1 and adapted to your needs and goals.
Can we record?
Yes. I normally consider a song finished, or an exercise completed, once we have a professional video performance of it, shot on my film camera, at your home or in my Maidenhead studio, with your audio and video mixed together into a proper guitar performance video. It isn’t something I impose, and you don’t have to do it, but it’s the best way to measure progress over time and it gives you portfolio material: most of my students use these videos to start their own YouTube channels, to pitch for bands, or as part of their portfolio as active musicians, for university and for their future careers. If you’d rather not be recorded, that’s no problem: we don’t have to make recordings.
What if we need to cancel?
I ask for 48 hours’ notice. Lessons cancelled with less notice than that are charged.
Book a lesson
Tell me where you are and what you’d like to play. I’ll confirm the price for your area and the days I can come. I usually reply within 24 hours.
Quicker than the form:
- I reply within 24 hours, usually sooner.
- We find a day and time that suits.
- The first lesson is a normal lesson, at the normal rate. You carry on only if you want to.
